Dwight Eisenhower is to this day my favorite president. He was the first political figure I was ever aware of. As a child I read most of the books related to the Second World War in the Ocala Public Library and I suppose that is where I first became aware of him. When he ran for reelection in 1956, at the age of 11, I was a supported (if you can call an 11 year-old a supporter) and actually got into a fight over the election. I lost the fight as I recall but did not change my opinion. I have studied his life, both as a member of the Army and as President. I have a shelf full of books associated with him and read anything new that I find. For that reason, he warrants a special listing here.
