Book Review – The Face of Pancho Villa, Frederich Katz

This is a short (83 pages) glossy book that consists of pictures of Pancho Villa with some narrative.

Given what I have already read of Pancho, this collection of photographs does an excellent job of capturing the man. Not a lot of new facts, but still a very nice addition to the collection. Most of the pictures, or all of them, come from a single collection.

Villa engenders a wide variety of opinions but as the author states: “…the name of Francisco Villa has remained enshrined forever in the heart of the poor.”

…and in mine…

Villa was the rare exception of a leader who did nothing to enrich himself.
